Most Instagram Worthy Spots In and Around San Diego

I took a weekend trip to visit one of my best friends in San Diego. I flew in on a Thursday and flew back out on a Sunday. So, we wanted to see as much of the city and surrounding area as possible in a short amount of time. San Diego is such a beautiful city. With gorgeous beaches, hiking, restaurants, shopping, and nightlight.

My top five Instagram worthy spots in San Diego are…

Shell Beach

What a beautiful area to explore there is a beach where you can watch sea lions, take a walk on the pier and watch the sunset. It is beautiful and if you can get there around sunset it is truly breathtaking. This a must if you are looking for a romantic spot to watch the sunset.

La Jolla

Just walking around downtown La Jolla I came across so many alleys, fences, flowers, and trees that were straight out of a magazine. La Jolla is definitely an Instagram worthy spot in San Diego.

Coronado Island

There are breathtaking beaches and beautiful architecture all over Coronado Island. Hotel Del Corondo is where the movie Some Like It Hot starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon was filmed.  There is amazing shopping, food, and beaches where it is practically impossible to take a bad picture.

Ocean Beach

Ocean Beach has a great local feel to it, a huge fishing pier and gorgeous views. If you are looking to do some fishing, dining or just watching the sunset Ocean Beach is a must not miss spot.

Torrey Pines

There is a great hike down to a really pretty black sand beach. Unless you are an avid hiker (I am not…) you are going to want at least a small break at the bottom before you hike back up. You’ll probably want to bring a backpack with at least a towel to sit on and a water bottle. (PSA Black Beach allows nudity for those who chose to do so. Definitely not family friendly!)

BONUS: LOCAL ARTIST

Check out a local artist here https://soundcloud.com/brandoncolao. I met Brandon while I was visiting SD and love love love his music! His songs are alternative rock with a touch of indie. It’s Red Hot Chilli Peppers meets Biffy Clyro.
